Screening Tool: Auditory Processing Disorder (APD)

Do you, or your loved one, have problems with listening, especially with background noise, to the point where it causes you stress? This a simple screening questionnaire based on common symptoms in auditory processing disorder (APD).

1. Difficulty following multiple instructions.
2. Difficulties hearing in noise despite normal hearing.
3. Difficulty following rapid or accented speech.
4. Lower school achievements than would be expected, given results of a cognitive evaluation.
5. Person has had many ear infections.
6. Since Grade 2 or 3, behind other students in reading and spelling.
